New Print Magazine for Amputees to Debut in December

Amp It Up! will help close information gap for amputees

Eureka Custom Media, LLC, the publisher of AmputeeNews.com, is proud to announce the debut in December of its new print magazine for amputees and those involved in their lives.

Amp It Up! will be the health and lifestyle magazine for amputees who want to live more fully,” said Rick Bowers, vice president of Eureka Custom Media and editor-in-chief of the new magazine. “We will offer amputees information on how to improve their health and prevent secondary conditions, including the amputation of a second limb. In addition, we know that the reason people want to be healthy is so that they can enjoy all that life has to offer. Amp It Up! will help amputees accomplish that important goal as well.”

With rapid advances in the medical and prosthetic fields, the nearly 2 million amputees in the United States need to remain up-to-date and constantly learning. Amp It Up! intends to be the premier source of current information relevant to this audience. With 9 issues a year, it will address both the significant lack of amputation-related information available and the inability of existing publications and organizations to reach more than a small percentage of amputees in the U.S. and worldwide.

“Because many problems that amputees face can be alleviated by knowledge, access to relevant information is essential for this population,” Bowers said. “It would be a tragedy if such a simple and cost-effective method of changing lives were not available. This publication is certainly needed.”

Amp It Up! will be distributed to a wide variety of qualified healthcare practitioners/professionals and facilities that serve amputees for their offices and waiting rooms. It will also be distributed to paid subscribers and at tradeshows, conferences and other venues. Individuals may purchase a subscription for only $27 a year for 9 issues (or $3 per issue). A limited number of free subscriptions will be available for those who cannot afford the publication. Healthcare practitioners/professionals, facilities, support groups and individuals may also purchase additional copies at a bulk subscription rate.

Amp It Up! will be an important information resource, a far-reaching communication tool, and a highly effective community-building platform for amputees,” Bowers said. “We hope that amputees across the nation will consider it a valuable asset and will help us make it a huge success.”
